Fly on the wall approach

CONSULTING

Introducing the innovative "Fly on the Wall" approach, a powerful tool designed to assess the integration of Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) within the organization. This program focuses on evaluating existing policies and procedures, staff-to-staff communication, and interactions between staff and clients. Through this approach, the organization's commitment to TIC is put to the test, with a special emphasis on post-training implementation for those who have already undergone trauma-informed care training.

Objectives

The primary objective of this process is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the entire organization's TIC implementation. By identifying successful TIC practices and areas for improvement, this initiative aligns with the organization's trajectory of becoming and remaining trauma-informed. This strategic endeavor aims to prevent the re-traumatization of participants, staff, and the community, ensuring a safer and more supportive environment.

Outcomes

Noteworthy outcomes for staff include heightened retention rates, increased engagement, and greater job satisfaction. For clients, improved interactions with both staff and leadership are anticipated, leading to enhanced satisfaction with the organization's services.

To achieve these goals and outcomes, the following structured approach will be employed:

Observation of Interactions

Careful observation of staff-client interactions, facility operations, and planning meetings to assess the real-time application of TIC principles.

Review of Policies
and Procedures

In-depth scrutiny of the organization's policies and procedures will be undertaken to assess their alignment with trauma-informed practices.

Staff
Interviews

Engaging in interviews with staff members to analyze the practical utilization of TIC in their daily interactions and routines.

Collaborative Strategy Development

Engagement with administration will be a pivotal step to establish to parameters of a project.

The culmination of these steps will lead to a comprehensive evaluation of TIC implementation within the organization. By utilizing the "Fly on the Wall" approach, the organization can gain valuable insights into what is working effectively and what areas can be enhanced. This process will play an instrumental role in reinforcing the organization's commitment to being a Trauma-Informed entity, safeguarding the well-being of participants, staff, and the larger community.
